Perfect Valve Heat Race Ride

★Ingredients

1 cup of white rice (jasmine, basmati, or your preferred variety)

1.5 to 2 cups of water (depending on rice type)

A pinch of salt (optional)

★Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming sticky.
  2. Add the rinsed rice to a rice cooker or pot.
  3. Pour in the water (use 1.5 cups for firmer rice or 2 cups for softer rice) and add a pinch of salt if desired.
  4. If using a rice cooker, simply close the lid and press the “Cook” button. Let it cook until the rice cooker automatically switches to “Warm.”
  5. If cooking on the stovetop, bring the rice and water to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 15–20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed.
  6. After cooking, let the rice sit for 5–10 minutes with the lid on. Then fluff it with a fork or rice paddle before serving.
