Nail fungus is a common problem that affects the appearance and health of nails, often causing yellowing, thickening, and crumbling of the affected nail. Although there are many drug treatments available, some people prefer natural solutions.
Garlic is one of the most powerful natural antifungals and antimicrobials, thanks to its active ingredient, allicin. In this recipe, we present a simple and safe way to use garlic as a home remedy to combat nail fungus and gradually improve the appearance of the nail.

Home Remedy Using Garlic for Toenail Fungus:
Ingredients:
- 2–3 garlic cloves (fresh)
- Olive oil or coconut oil (optional)
Instructions:
- Crush the garlic cloves to release the allicin (the active antifungal compound).
- Apply the crushed garlic directly to the affected toenail(s).
- Optionally, mix with a few drops of olive or coconut oil for easier application.
- Cover with a clean bandage or gauze.
- Leave it on for 30–45 minutes.
- Wash the area with warm water and dry thoroughly.
- Repeat daily for several weeks until improvement is seen.
Note: Garlic may cause skin irritation in some people. Always do a patch test first, and consult a doctor if the infection is severe or persistent.
