Ingredients
- 12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne, rotini, or egg noodles)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes
- 1½ cups marinara or tomato sauce
- 1 cup corn kernels (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, corn (if using), salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the beef sauce and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar evenly over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
