Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne, rotini, or egg noodles)
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes
  • 1½ cups marinara or tomato sauce
  • 1 cup corn kernels (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add the chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
  5. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, corn (if using), salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta with the beef sauce and mix well.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar evenly over the top.
  10. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
