Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • Β½ tsp salt
  • ΒΌ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ΒΌ cup (60 ml) vegetable oil or melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until well coated with flour.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and oil (or melted butter).
  5. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until combined (do not overmix).
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, add chopped herbs (like parsley or chives).
  • You can also mix in a little mozzarella or parmesan cheese.
