Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 ¾ cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the batter, alternating with milk.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely.
