Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pork Chops:
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs with milk.
- Dredge each pork chop in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and coat again with flour.
- Fry the Pork Chops:
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry pork chops for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove and set aside.
- Make the Bacon Gravy:
- In the same skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon pieces and set aside.
- Add butter to the pan, then whisk in 2 tablespoons of the leftover seasoned flour mixture. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add chicken broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Pour in the heavy cream and let the gravy thicken for a few minutes. If needed, mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the gravy.
- Stir in the crispy bacon and thyme.
- Assemble and Serve:
- Pour the bacon gravy over the fried pork chops.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
Enjoy!
