Candied Peaches Recipe (Glazed Peaches in Syrup)

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg ripe peaches (peeled and halved, stones removed)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • 2 cloves (optional, for flavor)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, combine sugar and water. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Add the lemon juice, cinnamon stick, and cloves if using. Bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Add the peeled peach halves into the syrup and reduce heat to low.
  4. Simmer for 20–30 minutes until the peaches become tender and glossy, absorbing the syrup.
  5. Remove the peaches carefully and place them in sterilized jars or a serving dish.
  6. Continue boiling the syrup until it thickens slightly, then pour it over the peaches.
  7. Let it cool completely before serving or sealing the jars.

Serving Suggestion:
Enjoy candied peaches on their own, with ice cream, or as a topping for cakes and pastries.
